You step through the door and find yourself in Vienna. Wonderful atmosphere that makes you forget the time. Delicious coffee with great cakes and the food is very fine. The staff is also friendly and very helpful.

The great atmosphere and the very friendly staff invite you to linger. The fine cake and praline specialties are very tasty! We would love to come back!

Although conversions have been made in the front room, the charm has been retained. It was well attended for Monday. I felt comfortable. The cakes are still good. The staff friendly and brisk.

I love it !!!!!! We are now the fourth generation to visit the coffee house and love the friendly service, the fantastic cakes or simply the market breakfast. Is in no way lifted. Anyone in Wiesbaden should take a look there. Simply great and authentic!

Very nice coffee house, but also high prices. However, the great ambience and the nice service make up for it.

A café entirely in the Viennese coffee house style. The only one outside of Vienna, they say about the Maldaner. There are ingenious cakes, pies, chocolates, great breakfast on the tiered stand and lunch. The prices are accordingly a bit higher, but absolutely reasonable in terms of quality.

Really fancy Austrian cafe. The schnitzel nach Wiener art was very delicious, as well as the fries and side salad. The interior design is amazing. I feel like I'm in an old European film. The upstairs dining area is so fancy and bourgeois. Would be great to host a dinner party here! They have a variety of delicious Austrian cakes with beautiful design. Almost too beautiful to eat. The breakfast combo comes with champagne and a three tiered tray of cheese, meat cuts, smoked salmon and bread. Very nice experience!

Breakfast is very good! Especially not that expensive! Service competent and friendly! You can have breakfast until 2.30 p.m. Lunch little choice. Large selection of cakes. Toilets not handicapped accessible! 1 large staircase up!

A visit to the oldest Viennese café in Wiesbaden is a mandatory visit and is served with delicious cakes rewarded. The whole ambience in the café displaces a hundred Years back. Hopefully we can stop there for a long time and linger.

Today was the first time we were guests in the beautiful, old coffee house Maldaner, because my daughter really wanted a delicious chocolate cake and we also wanted to eat one of the many great-looking cakes. The queue in front of the café is absolutely justified !! We were brought to a wonderful table very quickly (many thanks again to the very nice and courteous waiter, who said that we would get an even nicer table than the one in front) and chose a Sachertorte, a chocolate - raspberry tart and a covered one Apple Cake. I chose a pancake with apricot jam and was not disappointed, nor were the others !! The coffees were also very good. The service was very attentive and very open-minded and despite being very busy, always friendly! The music and the ambience make you forget the time and so it is already clear that we were not there for the last time! Thanks again

We were guests at Café Maldaner for the first time. The occasion was a breakfast friends. The breakfast menu is very extensive and has something suitable for every taste. Our breakfast was served to us nobly on a tiered stand, was plentiful and tasted great. The service is very friendly, not intrusive and yet very attentive. The ambience is just fantastic. You feel transported to another time. We couldn't have started our day better. We felt very comfortable and look forward to seeing you again ?

We were very much looking forward to the reopening after the redesign phase of the previous weeks. And we were not disappointed - the renovation of the front area with the new barista station has been very successful and the associated somewhat more modern ambience is a nice addition to the still very cozy classic rear part of the café. And otherwise everything is TOP as always! For us, the Maldaner is and remains by far the most beautiful café in Wiesbaden and the incredibly rich and delicious selection of tarts and cakes also makes it almost impossible to pass by. (No, this isn't a bought review - I'm just so excited ?.)

You can have really delicious breakfast here even until 2:30 p.m. So late risers will also get their money's worth here. The cakes and rolls are a feast for the palate. The only pity is that there is no homemade jam. The cappuccino was delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. Price-performance ratio very good

Good cafe and nice area

After having waited 35 minutes without being able to order we decided to leave. It is so crowded and the staff is exhausted. The manager should shame him/herself making them work like slaves.

Cake was a little dry than what I preferred. However the atmosphere was very good for a Sunday. Recommended.

Writing a review for our visit on the 4th of February 2020, approx.3PM. If it was possible, I would give this place 0 stars, just to reflect the aftertaste which we were left with after visiting the cafe. The first impression was very positive, as on that day I specifically came to Wiesbaden to Cafe Maldaner in order to celebrate my Birthday, as the reviews and the video clip on their website promised great atmosphere and excellent food. The interior is actually very interesting and we got seated right away as well. However, shortly after the first positive impression started fading away. The waiter who was in charge of our table (a man of approx. 40 years old, brunette, dark eyes) came to us every 5 minutes and with an annoyed face threw a question at us "Not ready yet? Is it so hard to order?". When bringing each dish he also looked irritated, which made me feel very unwelcome in such cafe with so-called "high reputation and standards". But the end of our stay just killed the last joy after a piece of cheesecake with berries barely lifted my mood (just a little reminder that it was my Birthday...). After making our payment with card (which this man was also angry with, since, apparently, we should have told him about it from the beginning), he opened his wallet and was waiting for tips! You should have seen a look on his face after he (surprise-surprise) did not receive anything from us...I have never seen such a mixture of unpleasantness from one's face at people who he serves...He looked as if he was completely displeased and even disgusted with our presence there. I could not wait a second longer to leave Cafe Maldaner. Feel very sorry for my ruined mood on my special day. 04.02.2020

Hostess was very warm and welcoming. Sat me down at a nice table with a couch in middle of the restaurant. Reminded me of The Plaza in New York. Was waiting for a friend to show up and the waitress told me that I could only have the table for 30 more mins. I told her I just got her 5 mins ago. She got a reservation sign put it on my table and said I only had 30 mins. So I asked if I could sit somewhere else and she put me in the back of the restaurant on a small bistro table with little metal chairs, not relaxing or comfortable under the stair.

Very nice atmosphere and the staffs were so friendly and amazing! The coffee and cakes were just bar and nothing more. Overall it's a good place to hangout and take your visitors to enjoy something old and traditional from Wiesbaden.

I was first time 12 years ago. That is so impresse,....now should upgrades to make perfect.

It’s very impolite for the foreigner. The waitress bring us to the reserved table, unfortunately one of the waiter blame us we shouldn’t come this table by ourselves , even we told him the waitress bring us here, but he don’t accept and say no to us, it’s very disappointed!

Best Cafe and cake in traditional fashioned cafe house. If you love coffee and/or cake its a must and place to be in Wiesbaden. Close to lokal main Station. Serving is friendly and fast, but no internet available.

Dessert is great here. The old bat behind the counter scoldling me for taking pictures to post here was just a miserable old coot! The decor is really cool. Stay away from the old hag. I originally gave this place higher marks but I decided to edit it simply because of how rude and snobby some of the staff are here. They simply don't care about giving you friendly service. Bottomline it's a great place for miserable people to hang out to be rude to one another or get treated like dirt while eating some fantastic dessert.

The best Café in town with unending variety of cakes and pastries. The coffee is Good too. The interior of the Café is rich & Service very friendly.

Maldaner is very famous for its ambient and the design also for the sweets that offers. The place is must for someone that visits Wiesbaden. All the sweet pastas are fresh and very tasty and coffee is offered always in nice porcelain. The staff is kind and friendly and the prices are normal.
